Recently, I was driving my 2018 Toyota forerunner to Clovis New Mexico. It was a two-lane highway with lots of construction in the hills and I couldn’t pass anybody so I purchased a Pedal Commander and boy what a difference it made. I also added one to my 2018 Toyota Tacoma no more pedal lag and I can pass other cars and it gives the truck much more power going down the road, especially here in San Antonio, Texas.

I love the small profile and the fact that it was extremely easy to install. It does make my truck feel a little more “peppy” off the blocks and while sketchy lane changes in faster traffic feel safer, I wouldn’t say it’s a real game changer after that. After the novelty has worn off, I’m left feeling that I paid a little too much for a gadget that ultimately delivers what it says it will (without the exclamation points) and the uneasy feeling that Pedal Commander recommends you hide it from your dealership.

First I would like to say the ordering process is straight forward, the packaging and shipping was exceptional and the couple interactions via email with staff second to none! I drive a 2018 Toyota Tacoma SR 2.7 liter 4X4. The truck has been very good to me but from the word go the truck had some of the worst throttle lag I have ever experienced. After a little back and fourth I pulled the trigger and ordered the Peddler Commander. Installation was a breeze, It took all of 15 minutes and the only reason it took that long was my wanting to run the cable neatly and out of the way! Truck started 1st turn of the key, I’m not gona lie I skipped right over eco mode, started on city mode and paired that with the number four selection laid on the pedal a little heavy and the truck jumped to attention instantly! The next day I got into sport and sport+ and I knew then I made one of the best decisions to purchase the Peddler Commander ! Let me finish with Sport+ and # 4 combination snapped my head back and I now look forward to driving my truck everyday. I have kept this review clean to this point so just let me get away with just one… THE PEDDLE COMMANDER IS BAD ASS and I highly recommend this product to all my Toyota Tacoma driving brothers and sisters! Thank you to all the folks involved with Pedal Commander!

Purchased for my 2017 Tacoma to try and get rid of the pedal lag. Made a world of difference! No more pedal lag and now I can adjust the throttle sensitivity at will. I normally keep it in the city mode as this gets rid of the pedal lag while still keeping my gas milage about the same.

excellent, I have a 4-cylinder stud which always carries load on slopes , since I install the improvement in the slopes has been 100% and I suffer with the poor start that characterizes these guagua now goes up as if it were a 6 cylinders, ....super recommended

I was very pleased with my 2025 Tacoma, with everything except the acceleration. I am not used to throttle lag and it was driving me crazy! I say used to because Pedal Commander fix that problem. Now my new truck feels new all over again. I highly recommend this device. It sure changed the way my vehicle responds to the need for speed.

I fully understand that I'm not getting more HP or Torque with the Pedal Commander, but man it sure feels like I am! It was lethargic at start up and you had to pin the accelerator to get it to downshift. I live in CO, so there are a lot of hills and switchbacks, which the G3 Taco just couldn't navigate well.
After the Pedal Commander its like I'm in a new truck. A different truck. I'm sure a full tune may add more transmission benefits, but for now the Pedal Commander is a great investment.

Had this on my BMW from a recommendation from a friend. Once I picked up the Tacoma I knew I had to have it for the truck. I’ve got the prerunner four door V6 and it definitely helps open her up just as expected. If you’re debating about it just do it. Worth every penny.

I have mixed feelings about this product. On one hand it put some serious pep in the throttle response. on the other hand I can't seem to find the happy setting where the car doesn't pin me to the seat when I accelerate from a stop. Overall it works well.

Why Oh Why ... did I wait so long to get this?? I have been manually shifting my Taco for 2 years. Not any longer. No more throttle lag and it now shifts like it should. No more early upshifting and when I need it to downshift on the hills it it right there. Sport+1 Great Product!

Not totally disappointed but I guess I just anticipated a better result. I’ve tried the setting on City 1 and found the response much too aggressive. I just couldn’t find a comfortable pressure on the accelerator. I’m trying the Eco 1 setting now and that seems somewhat more comfortable but still experience a lag or delay on acceleration. Additionally, I was hopeful for a more noticeable fuel economy. I am getting .3 more miles per gallon.

Install was as easy as described. I ran mine up and over the steering column and placed it under the bed light controls and hood release so securing the wiring was a challenge but worked out great. Pedal Commander work as described and the throttle response is night an day. Very happy with this product.

Love it definitely makes a huge difference in throttle response I failed to remove my key fob on the initial hookup and I had a code the next time I did it like the directions stated and installed quickly and not one issue the pedal is very touchy but with all the settings you can set it to your liking would highly recommended it to anyone

Easy to install. App works great for making changes. Installed 7/7/2025. Only issue I have experienced is check engine light came on and interior lights would not turn off after doors were closed. Took it to my mechanic and had the misfire-cylinder 1 and several ECU lost communication codes cleared. Two days without any codes.
In sport mode I’m getting 19.9-20mpg.

Still getting used to it, but definitely makes a difference with your accelerator. So far city mode seems like a good fit for my occasional drives as I am mostly urban and have to drive to get anywhere. The sport and sport + are very peppy! But with power comes more gas usage so it’s a matter of finding that balance. Can’t wait to try economy on my next highway trip and see if it does improve on mileage! So far so GREAT! My Tacoma was sluggish and lacked balls for a 3.5 v6 engine, specially when taking off from a dead stop or changing lanes on the freeway. I came across PEDAL COMMANDER months ago, but I was not sure if all the hype was real. I watched a couple, 3 videos and saved the 300$ to get it.
Installation was quick and easy and the very night I installed pedal commander, I tested the different modes on the freeway. I could not believe the difference specially on Sport + mode. It’s very responsive and very dangerous if not paying attention. I use the city mode and that’s plenty to drive back and forth to work. I don’t have to use the power button on my truck anymore. I use the manual/ Sport shifter and in combination with pedal commander I feel like I’m driving a 100% manual transmission truck. So far so good, hoping is a good product that will last me a few years..!!

So far, the Pedal Commander I installed on my ‘23 Tacoma works as intended.
My throttle pedal seemed sluggish before. After installing the Pedal Commander, just on city mode the pedal responds like one would think it should. I tried it on sport and sport + modes and the pedal response was almost scary.
Installation was quick and somewhat simple with no need for any kind of computer reset, or other issues.

I was more than a bit skeptical but after reading numerous reviews I decided to pull the trigger. I put in a new cold air intake, exhaust headers and a cat back exhaust system. When I took the truck for a cruise (2007 Tacoma, 2.7 liter 4 cylinder) what a surprise. Glad I made the purchase.

I received the pedal commander and installed it in my 2019 Toyota Tacoma in 2 minutes, very easy plug and play just like it says. It works better then I expected. Instant throttle response I have been looking for. I started with each setting on 1 and worked through the settings till I found exactly what worked for my driving experience for what I was using my truck for at the time. I noticed the gas mileage was not as good, but the performance made up for it. I then took a long road trip and set the pedal commander on economy and I could not believe it!! The gas mileage was outstanding, better then what the truck had gotten without the pedal commander. I highly recommend this pedal commander to anyone looking for a better driving experience no matter what vehicle, if the pedal commander will work in it, you definitely need to purchase it. Thank you for an awesome product and honest information and reviews on it.

I wasn’t sure if I should flash mod or get a pedal commander type mod. I looked into a bunch of options. I chose Pedal Commander for the ease of changing how it can be set changed day to day or even mid trip. It’s on a daily driver and it changed everything. Completely different truck … very happy

It's been a little inconsistent in the way it feels sometimes the throttle feels very responsive and sometimes it doesn't I don't know if that's the throttle Commander or if it's the throttle itself

Received was a little hesitant to install, watched a dozen videos on how to install and got the guts up to install it took longer for the truck go to sleep than it took to install and I added a new left side switch panel that accepts the pedal commander.looks oem and works great completely eliminated the pedal lag.

Issues with the App connecting to my Tacoma. Works fine with my other two vehicles so maybe something to do with Toyota. A little frustrating as I cant find a resolution and the troubleshooting steps did not help.

I got the Pedal Commander for my '23 Toyota Tacoma. I love it! It is super powerful and fast. It really does make my truck a race truck! Deletes hesitation and gear searching on my automatic transmission. It is really smooth and powerful. I love the Pedal Commander.

I have not had much drive time with the Commander. The pedal seems to react quickly but the transmission seems to overly active. I think I will enjoy the Pedal Commander in time.
I know one thing, I will always remember to turn off the ECU. I thought the power was completely off but it must not been off. After pushing the start button the response was startling. “Engine problems””call the Service department now”. Did I ruin my expensive Tacoma? After two seperate starts the computer cleared itself-PHEW. After leaving the driver’s door open for a little over thirty minutes the power must have off. When I started the truck was perfect!

I’m gonna add that the pedal commander for Tacoma is the third addition too a complete expansion. Cold air intake, and exhaust should also be considered. After that, the pedal commander will have a better chance of success.
For me, it’s no question, it delivers more power, which in turn makes driving more fun. I haven’t seen a significant change in gas mileage. But I have 33 inch tires and a 3inch lift.
