WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

Modern trucks, including the 2007-onwards GMC Sierra 3500HD, use an electronic throttle system (drive-by-wire). The electronic gas pedal sends a signal to the ECU, which decides when and how fast to open the throttle valve. The process is intentionally delayed to meet emissions regulations and make the truck suitable for a wide range of drivers. This restrictive mapping causes throttle lag in the Sierra 3500HD.

The Pedal Commander® throttle response controller eliminates your GMC Sierra 3500HD's throttle lag, regardless of its generation or engine type. It intercepts the signal between the gas pedal and the ECU and remaps it. The ECU receives an unrestricted signal and opens the throttle valve instantly and much faster.

The Pedal Commander® throttle response controller plugs into the stock gas pedal position sensor to intercept and remap the Sierra 3500HD's restricted factory throttle signal. I was skeptical about the commander because I had been burned by a company that there product did absolutely nothing for pedal lag. But My eyes were wide open when I put the commander on. I have heard about Pedal Commander from several friends over the last few years. I remained skeptical though. Then not to long ago I was almost involved in a severe crash because of the pedal lag time in my 2007 GMC Sierra 3500HD. So the last week of December 2023 I ordered my Pedal Commander. OMG! I now wish I would have bought one years ago.

Noticed a huge difference as soon as I first stepped on the gas. I was very disappointed with the throttle lag and hesitant shifts with the 6.6 gas and this has been a great solution. I like running mine in sport at +2, fuel mileage dropped by a little, but the throttle response is worth it.

Bought the pedal commander for my 2020 GMC Denali 3500hd srw with the duramax and 10 speed transmission to take the lag out of the truck. Can’t believe how good it works. I use it on sport 1 and it takes the lag away. Really recommend this product if you’re looking to get rid of the pedal lag without tuning your truck. I jump off from stop lights and signs now.

This goes well with my deleted 6.6 gmc. Only thing I do not like is that it is hard to see at night when you wanna make a change. The app is good but when someone pulls up to you at a light last thing you wanna do is open the app.
